One of the most important aspects of my job is getting to know my customers, so here are a few fun facts to help you get to know me a little better.
- I grew up on top of a (small) mountain in Amherst Virginia. My parents still live there and their driveway is a half-mile long and empties out onto a dirt road right next to the James River. The river would flood over our driveway during heavy rain storms and we got stranded on the mountain a lot during my childhood...most of the time without electricity.
- My father taught me how to use my first camera. He also lent me his Minolta 101 and 4 lenses for my photography classes at CofC. He bought this camera when he was deployed in Germany during Vietnam. It still takes amazing photographs and documented the first 20 years of my life.
- My mother taught me how to cook. I love to cook.
- I have an awesome boyfriend, Gerard, and an awesome pup, Ajax. They make me smile daily.
- I'm obsessed with nutrition and fitness. I prepare 95% of the meals my boyfriend and I eat and we have a garage gym where we do a combination of strength and metabolic workouts 5 to 6 days a week. My boyfriend has a website called Holy City Athletics where he records his workouts. I occasionally post mine if I think about it.
- I ran my first race last year! It was the annual Cooper River 10k Bridge Run and I hadn't trained at all and ran it in 48 minutes! Since then I have done the Warrior Dash in Mountain City GA, the MudRun in Columbia SC, and a couple 5k's around Charleston. I think I might be done with adventure runs though.
- I love ice cream. It doesn't love me.
- If it didn't require years and years more school I would love to be a winemaker. Other than being a photographer, I think that's probably the best job in the world.
- I desperately want a French Bulldog...I think it would make a perfect little brother for Ajax, but they are so dang expensive!
- I'm kind of a work-a-holic...when I'm not working or working on something I'm researching and thinking about working on something. It's really difficult for me to sit still.
- I am a morning person!!! If I sleep past 7:30 I feel I've wasted the day. Unless it's Sunday.
- I love lists, and make lots of them. I love checking things off those lists even more.
- I am a perfectionist and always believe I can do better work. It drives me to continue learning.
- I don't like having my picture taken *gasp!*
